The thyroid is a glad present in the neck of every human being. It is butterfly shaped and regulates a number of metabolic processes in the body. The Thyroid produces t4 and it needs iodine to produce it. Having a clear connection with the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland which produces the thyroid stimulating hormone, any disorders of it can cause anomalies in the body.

Symptoms of Thyroid Disorders:

A situation where the gland produces less T4 is called Hypothyroidism. The major symptoms are:

A situation where the gland produces excessive T4 is called Hyperthyroidism. The major Symptoms are:

Weight loss

Testing for Thyroid Disorder:

A test for Thyroid Disorder can be understood by a blood test to measure the TSH. Apart from this, Ultrasound may help by imaging the thyroid gland.

Treatment for Thyroid Disorder:

Medications by tablets or a Thyroid Gland Surgery can be done as per treatment of the Thyroid gland.
